The Retirement Commission has free education resources for teachers to use with Years 11-13 students.
The resources have been developed with the assistance of Young Enterprise Trust and link to the Personal Financial Management Curriculum, the NZ Curriculum and a range of NZQA unit standards. They are based on the Sorted Journeys advertising campaign – a series of four, one-minute television advertisements featuring real New Zealanders using sorted.org.nz to get their money matters sorted.
With these resources, students have the opportunity to identify the financial behaviours that reflect their values and attitudes. They learn about the skills and tools they need to manage their financial situation effectively.
The resources cover four topics and each includes a teacher’s guide and a workbook for students. The resources are free and can be downloaded here.
