The Commission for Financial Literacy and Retirement Income recently reviewed its current criteria for financial literacy education providers listed on financialliteracy.org.nz.

The new criteria are closely aligned with the National Strategy for Financial Literacy and international standards for delivering financial education programmes.

Its focus is to encourage financial education providers to use:

• trained personnel
• good practice delivery approaches
• quality and accessible learner-focused resources
• a credible monitoring and evaluation process.

The Commission believes that by adopting these criteria the quality and effectiveness of financial education in this country will increase.
