Financial Literacy 09 was a one-day summit, hosted by the Retirement Commission, in Wellington in June 2009. It brought together key New Zealanders interested in improving our population's financial literacy.
Retirement Commissioner Diana Crossan reviewed progress and discussed the challenges ahead, and international speakers also shared their experiences.
The keynote speakers were Wendy van den Hende from the UK, Chief Executive of Personal Finance Education Group (pfeg), and Annamaria Lusardi from the USA, Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College and an expert in the field of financial literacy. The summit was opened by Finance Minister Bill English.

- The financial sector role in financial education
- Research and evaluation.
